The primary role of Aged Care Assessment Services or Teams (ACAS/Ts) are to independently and comprehensively assess the care and support needs of frail older people, and to facilitate access to available care services appropriate to their long term care needs.

These services will assess people for access to packages of care to support older people to remain at home.

The Australian Centre for Grief and Bereavement is an independent, not for profit organisation providing grief and bereavement education in Australia. Its role is to build the capacity of individuals, organisations and communities to enhance wellbeing after adverse life events.

Carers provide unpaid care and support to family members and friends who have a disability, mental illness, chronic condition, terminal illness or who are frail.

There is a Carers Association in each state and territory that can provide families and their carers with information. They can also make referrals to community services that will be able to support carers in their caring role. Carers Associations provide counselling services and programs for carers.
